The Steering and Suspension systems are key to your vehicle handling and safety while driving.
Your Suspension includes:
- Shocks and/or struts
- Steering Knuckle
- Ball Joints
- Steering rack box
- Bearings, seals, or hub units
- Tie Rod ends
The Suspension is the connecting link between the wheels and frame of the vehicle, with the steering system by providing vehicle control. The suspension absorbs the shocks from the bumps, holes, and condition of the road, stabilizing your vehicle so you don’t feel the true impact of the road while riding.
This system should be inspected during a wheel alignment at least once per year. Not only will this keep you safe but it will also prevent premature wear of parts like tire treads.
Suspension systems vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle, causing a noticeable difference between the “feel” of vehicles. How and where we drive as well as regular maintenance greatly effects the life of the suspension. Symptoms of a damaged suspension are:
- Pulling
- Uneven Tire Wear
- Noise and Vibration while cornering
- Loss of Control
