Tire Pressure: What you should know

Your tires are involved with many functions of your vehicle. Did you know how you maintain your tires effects gas mileage, steering, and road handling?

When tires are not properly maintained with regular rotations and correct tire pressure you will notice a change in vehicle performance. Tire pressure affects gas mileage; too low and you will notice a dip in fuel economy. Keeping correct tire pressure also prevents tire damage which could lead to rupture at high speeds while driving. Over inflated tires are more likely to puncture if you hit an object, curb or pothole. Tire pressure also effects tread wear which can cause difficult handling  while driving.

What is your recommended tire pressure?  Look at your owner’s manual. The recommended inflation pressures for tires are specified in pounds per square inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa). If you can’t locate your owner’s manual call Titan Auto and Tire, 804-524-9115.
